"You do excellent work." -Dr. Kassem
Generations of Smiles
Time for Something New
Every business needs to grow, and in order to do that, sometimes things need to change.
Over the last 20 years, Mahomet Family Dentistry has been known for its excellent dental care, growing by word of mouth. Still, about 10 years ago, Dr. Kassem knew the group had more to offer. Integrating the practice into the Mahomet-Seymour community was a priority.
Simple changes like updating the logo and giving the office a facelift were simple. We worked with Sesame Communications to update the website. This also gave us an upgrade to the patient communication system, adding patient flow capabilities.
But most importantly, we added events like making custom mouthguards for athletes and got involved in local parades and events. We also started getting into the schools, presenting to elementary classes about oral care.
At their request, I’ve also managed their Facebook platform with educational content and provided monthly slideshows for patients as they sit in the chairs, highlighting dental care, local events and photographs.
Over the last 10 years, Mahomet Family Dentistry has certainly grown, going from an office with openings to one that now has a waitlist.
Rebrand
A lot changed between 2000 and 2015. Mahomet Family Dentistry’s logo and office feel became outdated. Dr. Kassem knew it was time to make the outside of the office feel as fresh as the practice had become.
We worked with a designer on a new logo, which represented the Kassem family and the Mahomet area well. We chose new flooring, paint, and office decorations.
The rebrand included an updated website, signage, local events, and using social media, texting, and email to connect with patients. This allows us to realign with evolving market demands and consumer preferences. We were also able to attract new patients and reignite interest among existing customers, driving growth.
Content Development
My primary role at Mahomet Family Dentistry has been content development.
While my primary role was to take the content on the Mahomet Family Dentistry website from stock content (meaning hundreds of other sites had the same content) to business-specific and local content, boosting search engine optimization, I’ve grown into the social media manager who also produces slides for patients while they are in the office.
This work has not only educated the Mahomet-Seymour community about how to take care of their oral health, but it’s also increased our visibility and built trust and credibility.
Community Involvement
One of the best practices for small businesses is to get involved in the community. Mahomet Family Dentistry jumped in with both feet, doing what needed to be done to get their faces and brand out there.
It wasn’t long after we started working together that we connected with the local school district to teach young children about the importance of taking care of their teeth. Dr. Kassem’s team also began making custom mouthguards in school colors for the athletes.
We marched in local parades, handing out custom grocery bags with our logo on them. Those bags are still being used around town today. And joined other businesses in trunk or treat in October.
All of these events exposed Mahomet Family Dentistry to thousands of Mahomet residents and provided a consistent way for the business to be remembered.
